Wednesday August 21, 2013 was a regular race night out at Capital City Speedway. I arrived at the start of the first heat race. I was making my usual rounds in the pits. Mom asked where all my gear was. I said too tired to carry it all. You see, I had been up in the Wilderness of Quebec on a ATV camping Trip and we had left Wednesday afternoon so I could make it to the races. I partied hard into Wednesday morning and was going on little sleep. Mom is the person in the pits who keeps the mouths fed.
There was some great feature racing with legends cars #1 and #7 going back and fourth. Right off the start for the late models, there was a wreck that saw the 10 go over on the hood of 8. Both cars got tangled up and the tow truck had to be used. Then once that race resumed there was some great chasing going on with the 00 chasing the 2 for the lead. The 2 got spun out by the 00 and with a few laps to go and those cars at the back the 14 took home the win. In the four for fun the 5 car took home its first feature win, but the 86 fought to the end to try and come back up front. Intermsision also saw a carshow/parade around the trank with two groups of 30 cars making their way around.
Friday August 23, 2013 I made my way back out to the track, but this night was drag racing and a fundraiser for a drag racer who has helped the drag strip get up and running. It was great to see so many people out supporting the cause. As I write this the drag racer who was injured in a work acident remains in hospital. There were many a cars taking to the drag strip and lots of people came out to watch. There were a few battles going on, battle of the mustangs and battle of the trucks. Video to come on that shortly.

Wednesday June 19, I took in the regular Wednesday night racing at Capital City Speedway in the Nations Capital. The evening Started out with the Legends running a feature race as they were not able to get a feature in on June 5. In the other classes there was some great heat racing.
This night saw the Vintage Modifieds return for some more racing. Furtherst travelled in the class I'm told is # 57 of the Gill family. They made the trip from New York State. There was some great racing in the late model and mini stock heat races.
The Features saw the 72 of Mike Attwill take home his first feature win ever. The Late Model saw the 14 of Sean Kennedy take home the win followed by his usual victory donuts. Mini Stock saw the 49 of Casey Cavanagh take home the win. In Legends the 57 of Kevin Foisy took home the win. In Vintage Modifieds the B10 of Paul Billings took home the win. Thunder cars saw the 56 of Jessica Pasinetti take home her first ever feature win.

This first weekend in June saw the first of three Wheels A Churnin events of the year. Some of the event are Mud Drags, Tough Truck Challenge, Wheel to Wheel racing , ATV and Snowmobile Drag Racing, truck and tractor pulls. No shortage of events to take in once they get started. I found myself taking in one of three classes run the off road obstacle course. I then headed over to watch mud drags and trator pulls. The wheel to wheel track was quite dusty and with mud drags running at the same time I was not able to take in any racing during this visit. I was amazed to see some great custom mud bog rigs in the mud pit as you'll see in my videos. Saturday early evening the sky opened up and the dust problem was sovled. So if your looking to take in a motorsport event in July, I suggest you take in the July 27-28 event.

Saturday April 6, 2013 saw the return of Black Jack Racing to the Edelweiss Ski Hill. Due to the warmer weather in 2012 the event could not be held. I was pleased to see lots of spectators and racers. Based on the number of race rounds going on, the entries appeared to have increased since the first 2011. It was great to see all these different classes race up the hill.

The Last couple weekends have been packed full of great events. Towards the end of September I attended EXPO Sno on a Saturday. This was a snowmobile show and swap meet in Quebec. I picked up some needed snowmobile parts. Then on the Sunday I headed to North Augusta for the closing day of Wheels A Churnin. There sure is lots to see and do there. Some of the things on the go are the Mud Dragsters, Truck Pull, Obstacle Course and Mud Bog. On the 27th of September I attended the Metcalfe Fair Demo Derby. It was my first time going and I was surprised by the numbers. The following night I was out at the Capital City Drag Strip for the start of the weekend bracket racing. Saturday the 29th of September I was in Montreal for the Supermotocross. That was great to see. Although the audio inside the Olympic Stadium was terrible and you could barely make out what the announcer was saying. There sure have been some nice fall days and the colours are beautiful. Get out and enjoy.

Time sure has flown by. Most people I've talked with, have had a busy summer. As everyone in the local area knows, we haven't seen much rain. What does mother nature decide to do on the date set for the Summer Slam at Capital City Speedway? She decided to rain. Friday the 7th of September, it began thundering and lightning around 11pm. Saturday rolls around and its pouring rain, pretty much all day. Good thing the officals made the call a few days before and moved the Summer Slam to the rain date of September 9.
I arrived to the track on Sunday just before 2. Out front the Monster Trucks were parked on display before their show. Higher Education and Black Stallion were on Display. Also on display was a drag car and an Outlaw 600 Ice Oval Race sled. Of course there were some drivers around the oval sled and I had a good chat with them as I hadn't seen them in quite some time.
I made my way into the pits and saw a visiting late model and mini stock car. There was some great heat races. The Vintage Modifieds were also back and this time there was a bigger pack out on the track which was great to see. There was a drifting and drag race demonstration and then the Monster Truck Came out for their first show, The feature races saw some great racing. The last race of the season was the 100 Lap Enduro Race.
Stock Car Season maybe over at Capital City Speedway, but Thursday night drifting and Friday night drag racing is still on.

July 4th was Independence day In the United States and Canada just celebrated Canada Day. The weather has been nice as of late. I made my way out to Capital City Speedway for the regular Wednesday Night Stock Car Racing. It was warm but a nice breeze would come half way throguh the heat races. This nigh was fan appreciation night and race fans got a chance to get down track during intermission and get up close with the cars. The drivers had a some picture cards and treats on the hoods of their cars. Lots of things for the kids to pick up, After intermission it was time for the Feature Races. The Feature Races saw the #82 take the win in Four For Fun, the #00 in Late Model, the #57 In Legends, the #7 in Thunder Cars and the #13 in Mini Stock. Next week July 11 will feature a 100 lap Enduro.

March 21, 2012 saw the AMA Supercross role into Toronto for a night of racing at the Rogers Centre. I Made the trip down to Tornoto to take in this event for the first time. I've always watched the Races on the TV, but being able to see it in person was so much better. The Stadium was full with a good crowd chearing for the favourite riders.
